2024 Scholarship Recipient
Oskar Khoury - UMASS, Boston, MA

"My vision is to make advanced irrigation technology accessible and affordable for homeowners, akin to the systems utilized in commercial and large farm settings." Oskar stated. "By integrating remote sensing capabilities into private residential systems, while optimizing water usage, enhancing efficiency, and promoting sustainability."

"He is a very focused young man and I can tell that once he puts his efforts into something, nothing will prevent him from achieving his goals," says Daniel Nelson, a faculty member at Milford High School in the Computer Technology Department. "He is often one of the first students to complete his projects and then is able to help me out with other projects in my classroom. This often includes helping out with Chromebook testing and repair. I am very thankful for this help and am impressed with his ambition. This is a quality that I would like to see in students more often and I know that he serves as an example to other students in this way."

2023 Scholarship Recipient
Logan Williams - Emmanuel College, Boston, MA

"My wonderful teacher at my technical school inspired me to participate in a volunteer internship at the Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center," says Logan. "Overall, this volunteer program sparked my interest in the medical field and I now know that I am very passionate about working in the hospital environment."

"Logan was a great addition to our summer program," says Katelyn Stoddard, Volunteer Coordinator at Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center. "She received remarkable accolades from her department managers and spent every volunteer shift going above and beyond for the patients she worked with. For example, on one occasion she spent hours with a cardiac patient helping her organize her room and fold her laundry, just to make it feel a little more like home."

2022 Scholarship Recipient
Jordan Taylor - Anna Maria College, Paxton, MA

"When I applied to Anna Maria College in 2019, I quickly saw how this school was going to help shape my career and shape me as a person. I chose to attend Anna Maria College to pursue a career in the fire service field with hopes of becoming a full-time firefighter when I graduate from their program. Little did I know how much of an impact the fire science program would have on me. This program is more than just learning about the different aspects of firefighting, this program cares about me and my success. By the end of my four years at Anna Maria College, I hope to have gained a wide variety of knowledge that won't just help me in the fire service world but will help me in everyday life. Receiving the IANE scholarship, will take some of the financial burdens off me and allow me to continue to flourish within my college community. With the help of this scholarship, I will be able to better my education and achieve my dreams of becoming a full-time fire fighter and serving my community."
